Steve began with Economou Partners in 1985. As a Design Principal, he specializes in sport and family entertainment centers; multi-use commercial and residential properties; hotel, hospitality, and food service projects; and airport maintenance and storage facilities. Religious structures are another of Steve’s specialties: In 1993, he designed the University of Connecticut’s Byzantine Chapel and Paideia Center for Hellenic Studies.
He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture. He’s a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Board and the recipient of awards for outstanding design and historic preservation. Steve was also a founding member of noted Chicago punk band The Effigies, and is still the group’s drummer.
